The Wisconsin Chapters of Rolling Thunder®, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Department of Wisconsin worked together. Their partnership brought this chair to the State Capitol rotunda. This event took place on September 18th, 2020. Governor Tony Evers unveiled the Chair with then VFW State Commander, Jason Johns and Rolling Thunder Liaison, Mark Herrmann.
The COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions on public gatherings caused a delay. The full dedication was postponed until September 17th, 2021. This date is POW/MIA Recognition Day. The change was made so everyone in Wisconsin could witness this historic event.
This Chair is dedicated in honor of the 1500 military service members from Wisconsin. They have still not made it home to their families.
